I don't like writing bios. It's such a strange thing to do. And anyway, who am I?

The honest answer: I'm nobody really. I looked around me one day last year and realised that we are living through a moment in time that is going to be discussed for a long time after I am no longer here.
I remember looking at photographs one day from the race riots in Middlesbrough in 2024, and I remember the moment it dawned on me that the people who documented those moments had to physically get up, walk out of the door with a camera, and go and put themselves in the middle of risky situations to do it.
I first took a camera to a protest in August 2025, and since then my work has been published by the BBC, Telegraph, Times, CNN, The Canary, Novara, Al Jazeera, and more.
Staring down a lens has taught me so much, and I have so much more to learn.
I am no one special; I am nothing at all. Just a person who picked up a camera and stepped outside to learn more about the world than they knew before.

I am just Barold... And I'm proud to share my work with you.
